What size chain ?

Post by carts69 »

Hi, can anyone advise on the chain length I need for a 49/13 set up, seeing different lengths calculated in links, will a 110 link be ok or can I go shorter? Thanks in advance.

For 12/48 I got 120 and cut 10 links out. Also that was E-series. I'm not sure but swing arm lengths can vary. Better to be safe and get one too long than too short if you're not sure

88' KDX200 (Not sure yet, runs but with rattly top end)

You should be able to run the STD chain length with those size sprockets although when I ran a 49 or 50t size rear sprocket it did rub on the chain guide so an extra few links wouldn't hurt as to shift the wheel back a little further....if I`m honest that gearing on the 220 is over kill unless you plan on riding Everest !

110 links is what I cut the chain on my H model 200. I am running 13/49 gearing. With that length it is actually a little long. 108 is too short.
