Quieting the Pipe
I'm getting an aluminum pipe guard in for my Gnarly Woods pipe and was wondering if there's any type of material I could put in between the guard and the pipe. My main reasons are quieting the vibration sounds and protecting the pipe from getting scratched by the guard. Would any of that heat shield work, or is that only good for putting along the inside of the right side panel?

I used to ride with a guy that would stick those aluminum guards on with what looked like 3 tubes worth of high temp RTV, then clamp it down after it dried. Swore it helped with sound/reverb.
