This is why we always say get a manual, helps prevent things like this. Chances are you may have sheared the pin off the bottom of the shaft. You have to pull the right side engine cover (not the clutch cover but the bigger one) to check it.

broken or not, that pin is bent and or weakened. It WILL break.
Cost less than 5 bucks fix it. Support the shaft on re-assembly.
check sig for newb thread.

Ohh yet another victim to that left reverse threaded kips governer

Yeah you will have to pull the right side cover...if you didn't break the shaft, hopefully you only unseated it from the assembly gear groove. That shaft is discontinued.

If I recall, there are two allan key screws bracketing the the shaft to the little male pin to hook onto the groove on the assembly...

Compliments of KDXer for this pic. It's from a 220 but very very similar

My 94 KDX200 came with a bunch of spare parts which included one of these that had been welded back together after breaking.

The one in it eventually broke (without trying to undo the nut), moved into the gearbox side and jammed my gearbox (Wedged under the shift drum) resulting in a case split.

My new road registered H-series KDX200 with 5000 k's on it, day after I got it I checked the KIPS functionality, wasn't working, all moving fine in top end, sure enough, this pin was broken off, luckily still located at the bottom of the inner-clutch case.

Just thought I'd say, it seems like these break very easily. And if you did break yours from turning the nut the wrong way, maybe it was blessing in disguise as it could have broken off soon anyway and jammed your gearbox up ;)
