Possible lead on upgraded KIPS valves

Well I was looking around on ebay today for kips parts and stumbled upon this company.

http://www.bdkraceeng.co.uk/KMX200.html

Looks like they are based out of the UK. They've got KIPS valves that they make for the KMX200 which I'm guessing is an overseas version of our bikes. Unfortunately the valves are certainly different looking from the top view. They show a picture of how the valves are situated and it looks like they've only got two valves in their cylinder, with no idler gear, and the holes are round cut with round top collars.

I shot them a quick email asking if they have or ever might make some for our KDX200's. Hopefully the answer would be nice. I just get the sinking feeling that in the years to come the valves will be extremely hard to come by. :supz:

That looks similar to the KIPS style on 1986 - 1988 KDX200 (and '85 KX I think)

I did a bit of research and did not see anyone post any results, other than the dyno chart on the manufacturers web site.

It is certainly is intriging, who wouldn't like more bottom end on a 2 stroke, ever ridden a KTM 300 ???

It's like my KTM 520 E/XC, just with a LOT more vibration.

do some research on KX kips spacers. No real results. Now I can't really remember from 1987. But it was supposed to be the big ticket and I bought one. Been thinking about making some and trying it to see for myself, just never did

Brock from BDK is actually a poster here at KDXRider.

He was in this thread:

So I am sure he has some insights.

Alright here's a little update for everyone. Got an email back from Brock today with some good news and some bad news.
The bad:
They are not currently making any kips Valves for the kdx models. The reasoning for this being that they have not been discontinued by kawasaki. Once they've been discontinued and are in a higher demand they may consider producing them.
The good:
They do have a solution for the infamous left valve that seems to fail more often than the right side or the idler gear. Apparently you can use one of their KMX200 valves on the left with a couple modifications. I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to use it on the right since it shares the same space as the idler gear. Here's his word for word on what needs to be done to make it work on the left side:

KDX200 1989 E1 to 1994 E6
Left hand valve can be replaced with KMX200 kips valve with 1mm spacer below and
14.5mm deep by 20mm diam bush above with 6mm hole in center.
Valve must be fitted with dot one to the right of the mark as you look from valve towards rod.

I'm guessing the spacer needs to be circular and 1mm in thickness :hmm: . He says if I'd like them to they could make the bush to send out with the valve.

Also a side note he said that in the future it would be a good idea for someone to have a new set laying around that they can use to make replicas off once they're discontinued.
