Need wheel help.

Post by Hookemhornz »

I recently purchased an 02 kx250(yes I know it's no kdx), I found out after closer inspection that both the rims are damaged. One is bent in a couple places and the other is cracked. A friend of mine has complete wheels off of an 01 drz250 he bought for parts. Is there any chance that the drz wheels will go on the kx? Or am I screwed and gonna have to buy new wheels??? I was hoping since they are both jap bikes that it might work...

NO. Yes.
Buy a couple tusk rims from RMATV, they are around $100 a rim, and re-lace.

On a budget so would I be able to just use my hubs and relace the dr rims instead?

Re-lacing with your stock hubs is certainly an option. Spoke nipple sizes may differ and would maybe require some drilling. You'd have to research. Or check out this thread and click on the link in the first post

There's a coupla KDX rims for sale in there cheap/free. Might need to drill spoke holes for these too but that's no big deal.
