Last night I purchased a cheap 2-stroke 250 (the brand doesn't matter for my question) for my friends to ride. I was looking at it a little closer today and at first thought that someone had removed the reeds (no plate between the manifold and cylinder). Then looking closer I see the "Boyesen" sticker and figured out that it has a "Rad Valve" with the manifold and reeds all integrated.
So question is... is this a desirable mod? or just another gimmick? comments?
thanks.

Boyesen Rad Valve... comments?
I run a rad valve on my 220...it has improved the throttle response throughout the whole r.p.m range...this product is recommended by eric gorr & jeff fredette ...take a look on the boyesen web site & judge for yourself.

Re: Boyesen Rad Valve... comments?
I went from Boyesen reeds to the Boyesen rad valve and got better results than expected. Bike is crisp.
