I found a 97 KDX 200 I really don't need for 600 bucks, needs work as it is pretty rough. What is everyone's opinion of modifying it into a version of the FREERIDE style of bike?

Seems like most run the approximate size of motor tuned for low end torque, RB can help with that and reduce the suspension travel to 8"-10" or so, lowers center of gravity and seat height.
Anyone done this aready?
Thanks for any input. Merry Christmas

Re: KDX 200 FREERIDE
The problem with just lowering a kdx is the loss of ground clearance. The freeride has the belly pulled way up for the amount of travel it has.
I do like the idea. I want to build a hybrid one day with freeride-likeness as a goal.
