Devol Rad Guards
I picked a new pair up for $45. They are the older model w/vertical vent slots.Anyon have boil over problems with this style? I now Devol makes the guards w/horizontal slots to assist w/over heating issues. I have also read, that over heating issues, riders thought were attributed to the Rad Guards, were actually a Rad Cap that was not de-pressurizing correctly. Its a nice feeling though to have some metal wrap around those rads.

If you're refering to me, I don't have gaurds , only braces (MSR). I did take them off in an attempt to run cooler but it didn't make any noticeable difference. My problem was the cap not pressurizing. At high altitude, this is an even bigger problem because the boiling point of water becomes so much lower (187° at 13000'). In fact, on one ride at that altitude (up to 13,600 actually) I managed to empty my rads half way , and boil my brake fluid. That was one of those bad days riding that's still 100x better than working.
