What year compatible with 02
Got a 2002 kdx 200. Crashed in the UP and ripped my water pump off the case. Also looks like more damage on that side. I'm wondering what years have the same parts on them so I can hopefully find a complete used motor.
Thanks.

95 on up through 2006!
Sorry about your bad luck. You might just want to buy a right side cover instead of the whole motor.

Thanks, I was thinking about just getting a cover but looks like some internal parts got messed up too. Still haven't had time to get it pulled apart.

Looks like the only damage was the cover but check the power valve rod actuator too. I strongly recommend you to buy a skid plate.

lol, what happened...hit a 30 point buck ?
yeah, looks like the part you need is a inner clutch cover (they can be had used for around 80-100 dollars)
plus whatever is broken on the inside
I don't think this would be enough damage to replace the engine unless you can get a heck of a deal on one and then fix and resell this one to break even
be sure to remove the pipe so you can get the KIPS cover off and then remove the gear from the actuator shaft
(now im sure I don't need to tell you to support the shaft and that the nut that holds the gear on is lefthanded thread)
once you get the clutch cable off you should be able to pull the whole side cover straight off
should be able to fix/replace all the damaged parts with the engine still in the frame

I have actually never seen anyone rip the whole water pump off, usually crack the cover or pop a hole in it...but my gawd, did you hit a 10 pound sledge hammer? lol
Like DIY said, a new cover and whatever is broke inside should get you back on the trail

Going across a bridge and gassed it a little and got sideways and hit a 2 x 4 that ties the bridge in.

Are there any skidplates that really cover and protect the waterpump? The ones i've see leave the pump exposed.
