Anyone use a "specbolt" hardware kit?
I just ordered a 250 piece specbolt brand hardware kit. Anyone ever have one of these kits? They seem to come with just about every bolt besides axle and linkage bolts. Ill review the kit when mine gets here, but Im curious if anybody else has an opinion.

I too want to hear about the kit.
Where did you buy yours from? How much?

Let us know A-man. I'm waiting til spring to get one off EBay, myself. I just want to add it to the trip toolbox for when we travel to go ride. It'll work with the XT, DR and CRF , also.

I used one on my Hybrid build , the Kawasaki KX plastics and bodywork fastener kit. As far as quality, they were comparable to OEM, and the small 8mm head ones didn't seem to be as soft as the OEM. I have been eyeballing the 120 piece kit just to have a supply of fasteners on hand since you always seem to find one missing or buggered up as you're getting ready to ride.

I got the 250 piece kit on eBay. I picked up a good quality tap set in 6, 8, 10,12, and 14mm size. Going to clean out the threads before I stick in new bolts. Soon as they come ill post pics and tell you what I think.

Got my kit in today. Quality is excellent! Bolts are shinier than stock, but a nice grade of quality. Even included sprocket bolts and two oil drain bolts. I don't know where all the bolts go cause none of mine are stock, but it looks like most bolts are included. Nice!

Here's a pic showing one of each included bolt
The third bolt from the right in the middle row I have no Idea where it goes.
These look like maybe triple clamp bolts? The very Long hex head bolts stump me. There's two of them but I don't know where they go:

Probably, but I wouldn't know which one it is. None of my bolts are stock, unfortunately.frenche200 wrote:Nice! Is there seat bolt in the kit?

loved mine bought it for the rebuild and replaced all new and what I had taken out cleaned up and threw back in the container for fixes later. Excellent purchase all around. Enjoy and if you dont have one pick one up for sure. I had deck bolts for my seat. Fixed my deck and replaced with correct either from manual or parts diagram on kawi site.
If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

Any idea where the black phillipshead bolts go? I think there's five or six of them. I've never found an online fiche that was clear enough to differentiate what type of bolt the assembly I'm researching uses.ICRage42 wrote:loved mine bought it for the rebuild and replaced all new and what I had taken out cleaned up and threw back in the container for fixes later. Frame guards I do believe. If you don't use them, I can put them to good use as they are also the same bolts that hold the body work on my ConcoursActionman wrote:ICRage42 wrote: Any idea where the black phillipshead bolts go? rofl indeed I think hes correct there
but the kit is really just for the kx kdx as stated but I can tell you I still have new and also copper crush washers left over your not going to use them all but as stated above it gives you alot of bolts and it gets rid of alot of headaches. Make ya a small repair kit afterwards and your all good get ridin.
Yea those stumped me I didnt have them on mine. (guards on bike cept brake cover)
