When replacing the bottom stem bearing do i simply slide the new bearing over the top of the stem and drive it gently to the bottom? I understand that i need to apply pressure only to the inner ring, by the way :) I plan on cutting the old bearing off also. Getting everything ready for my new klx forks! Oddly enough, one damned day after i spend $150 on klx forks and a clamp, my friend called and has a basket case 2000 kx250 hes selling me for $200 bucks. It has an aftermarket one piece applied racing upper bar mount and clamp on the forks, so these klx forks may be short timers lol. Til then though, im excited!

If the fork tubes are out of the trees...put the trees and stem in the freezer and the bearing in the oven at about 250 F. Should plop right on without worry of damage from driving it on.

go with whatever one you think will be better and sell the other ones (you got a good deal on both, should be able to break even)
the KX bottom clamp will not fit so you will have to have the stem swapped and who ever does that (local or send it out the Ron Black) and they should have no problem pressing the new bearing on

250 degrees on an OEM bearing??

You may want to dab on a touch of anti-sieze.

Yes, just drive it down onto the stem.

Thanks fellas! For some reason I always assumed the stem had to come off for proper install.
