I just acquired a 94 kdx. The brake and clutch levers are cut short and I was wondering why people do this? I seems like you would want more to grab but i may be missing something! attached is a photo from 2 Wheels.

Re: Cut Brake and Clutch Levers?
that's a 96
1 reason people might like to cut down levers (or buy shorty levers) is so they can use 2 fingers instead of the whole hand
a second reason (this one applies to me) is if you are running bark busters, cutting the levers keeps them from interfering with the bark busters

#3 Reason: If the bike falls over and snaps off the end of the lever the owner might just grind off the end and keep using the broken lever. I may have done this a few times...

Re: Cut Brake and Clutch Levers?
The reason I always mine a little shorter is to stop them from interfering with the barkbusters and because the ball on the end tends to catch vines. If you aren't going to run barkbusters your levers ought to have those balls to protect your fellow riders and yourself.
