A new tire question

Post by skipro3 »

Anyone try a Dunlop 739 front tire? I have a 756 and like it but got a deal on eBay for a new 739 for $20.

My 04 came with the 739's front & rear. The front was fine when new, but once the edges rounded a bit the handling went away pretty quick. The last few rides with it were downright scary. I don't think the 739's are an Eastern type of tire, a couple (like maybe 2) guys around here like them, but the majority (myself included) run a Pirelli MT18 front.

Of course, $20 is a great deal on a tire. And it may work just fine in your neck of the woods.

The Pirelli's ROCK! That's what was on my KTM.... never a complaint.

If you dont value traction up front...they're great!

On the plus side they tend to wear great.

That's the tire that came stock on my 03 220. Just changing that out improved my riding by a tremendous amount.

But, for $20 bucks...I'd run one again.

I still have issues with the M12 up front... not a whole lot of traction and gotta do something about that soon. :? Maybe because it doesn't touch a whole lot either....

Just not impressed with the M12 up front...S12 works real well on the rear though...

I was referring to the "tire not hitting the ground" much part, Mr. Doug Domokos.

$20 will pay your Dr's Co-Pay when that crappy 739 slides out from under.

I run a 739 front for similar reasons. I got it for 30 bux new :) Like said above works great till it starts to wear then it gets a bit squirlley on hard pack. In sand and loose dirt it works fine.
