forks setup question

Post by zepplin153 »

I've been reading up on setting up suspension and I have a couple questions.

First of all I have klx300 forks on my Kdx200. I have seen several other forums that say those forks only have a compression setting and no rebound setting. Is that true or am i missing something? I found the screw at the bottom of the fork.

Second do the Kdx forks have the same setup as klx? Or do the kdx forks have both compression and rebound adjustments?

Any input about which are better? I like the look of the klx forks.

Finally, I have heard conflicting descriptions of desirable settings. Let me preface this by saying I know settings may vary. but you read in some posts front firmer than rear is good and in others you read both about equal. this is all so confusing. :hmm:

KLX300 forks only have a compression adjuster. It is at the bottom of the forks.

1989 and newer full-sized USA model KDX's are the same way.

If they were handing out equally well set up KDX USD or KLX forks, I would choose KLX, but only because of color.

Balanced and equal is my preference. :boogie:
