I have always had a gripper cover on my KDX but other bikes I have ridden had regular covers and I didn't like them.
This is the one I bought http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Kawasaki-KD ... ad&vxp=mtr
So far it has held up pretty well, is super cheap, and looks great too.
If you have and H series http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-KDX200-KDX2 ... c3&vxp=mtr
They have them in blue, green, and purple too.

I like the slip and slide material. Gripper seats give me piles.

On my orange bike I took the stock seat to an upholstery shop and had them add some foam and put on a non-grip cover. That was the best $60 I ever spent!

had the same problem with mine.

Put a bit of thought into it. Considering previous owner raced mx (younger) he liked sliding to the front to corner. So he put that seat on.

First ride no lie I snapped the vent hose on bike because I slide on seat so fast.

I got a gripper seat and all is well. Wouldnt trade it for the world for woods riding. Vent stem stays secure hahahaha :supz:

Mine use to do the same thing. The older a seat, the slicker it gets. I just put on a new stock type seat cover and the slickness was gone.

If someone doesn't like a gripper, make sure to see if they are wearing pants...off-road riding pants. In jeans, it is ROUGH!

I don't care for gripper seats (gives me monkey butt) and I wear Axo, Oneal, and Moose riding pants. Of cousre, I don't have much of a butt so maybe that is my problem!

Also, some are more coarse than others.

True story-

Years ago I used to use Preparation H liberally as an anti-monkey butt remedy.
It would steam its way through my shorts and pants and make my seat shiny

A buddy and I were stopped one day having a smoke.
Buddy - "Hey, why is your seat so slick looking? You armor-all it or something?" He asked while rubbing it from one end to the other
Me - "Nah, thats from my butt cream. Smell good?"

I like the "slippery" seat because it lets me move around on the seat easier and doesn't remove a layer of skin from my sphincter with every ride. I have never felt that the stock seat on my KDX is too slippery. Keep in mind that you are riding a dirt bike and not the little car in front of the grocery store that runs off quarters. You are supposed to hang on to the bike. That includes not only hands but with you legs and feet as well. If you are having trouble with sliding around then next time you go riding pay more attention to how you are riding. Are you riding the bike or just twisting the throttle and letting the bike toss you around like a rag doll?
