How do you lube the swing arm joints?
Are those lube points behind the rubber cups at the swing arm and frame joint?

There are no lube points, you need to take the swing arm bolt in order to clean and lube the bearings properly. Be prepared to replace the bearings,if they are broken you cant install them back again.Search for it on youtube there are a lot of tutorials about swing arm bearings maintenance.

Also keep in mind that if your swingarm bearings are abused, the linkage bearings will be in even worse shape, seeing as they live at the bottom, exposed end of the suspension. General rule of thumb is if you do one, do the other as well.

As you said is better to inspect the hole system and replace all the bearings. also is a good starting point for future maintenance on the new to you bike.

I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. When I take wrenches to things they either break, or I can't put 'em back together again.
Seriously....I'm cursed. The worse part is I like to try anyways.
I've worked hard to repress that urge to "fix" stuff. I tend to go by the ole' saying: "If it aint broke don't fix it."
I'm hoping to wait 4 more months...then it will be too cold. I can pull the bike inside and try maintenance and repairs.
If my bike is down, it won't matter for six months.

At least inspect the lower shock bearing. Just try to lift the rear wheel of the bike and search for wear, if you can feel some wear in the lower shock bearing change it immediately.
