Nope. Just look on the 2nd page of the manual under copyright notice. All those on eBay, tradebit, etc. are not licensed/legal/legitimate/etc.

Thanks julien and Jason. My "legal" copy has " copyright " and the company's name watermarked on every page. They've "copyrighted" an already copyrighted manual, I guess. I thought those were legit copies all this time. It takes giant balls to copyright somebody else's work- and it probably fools a lot more people than just me. My dad is a writer and he's afraid of putting out digital copies of his books for piracy reasons. I'm more than a little sensitive to this issue because of him, and I just thought I was going to help someone out-not trade in stolen documents :)

Honestly, I haven't given away the manual; it just seemed easier to say that instead of saying " sorry, I removed this post because I just learned I was trying to give away a basically stolen digital manual". Trying to keep my dumb moves to just one site if I can help it. In the grand scheme, I was simply trying to be a nice guy and help someone who might need a manual out. Nothing more sinister than that. I've always assumed that since these manuals had "copyright by ?" They were legit. Eh It's been a cluster $@)3 either way, and I hate that I've made a bad impression on this site. It usually takes a few dozen posts before I make a bad impression :)

Btw: it's funny that you're the guy on the other forum, cause you and canyon carver are the posters I've been singling out to read even before I joined these here sites. Good reading. Hope we can forget this mess and concentrate on our awesome bikes!

Thanks to you, Jason! The jets are going to have to wait a few days though; my new rear tire has been " out for delivery" for three days and I can't ride yet! I did notice yesterday that the burble is through the midrange as well, so I'm assuming a main jet needs juggled as well. I'm going to spend a little cash on rebuilding my suspension and swingarm/ linkage bearings to boot. I'm making this as nice as I can cause I plan on keeping it a long while. I was wanting an mx-style 250, but the few rides I've taken have really made me a fan of this Kdx. It feels light as a biscuit because of the snappy power, and I personally love the seating position and ergos. I grew up riding on the late 80's so I grew real comfortable with this style of seating position. The Kdx reminds me of the 1988-89 kx125 seat and ergos, and a friend had one of those that I loved and always wanted. I was riding an 86 rm250 at the time, and the power (what little it had) was the only thing I liked better than that kx.

Get the pilot sorted first, as it affects all other circuits.

I used to work on KDX suspension for a few members several years ago. If you need any tips, just ask.

Asbest I remember reading, the 1989 - 1994 KDX200 is based off the 1988 KX125 somewhat. The 1995+ KDX's are their own bike. 1986 - 1988 was based off the 1985 KX125.

YELLOW AND BLUE!! Cool to hear about a 1986 RM250. I actually saw one in a MX GoPro video of some guy on an RM-Z450. Of course, it was the rider, but the guy on the 1986 RM250 finished in front of him. The link is on TSM (twostrokemotocross).

That old rm250 had 36.5 monster horsepower:) I sold it in92 and didn't ride since then, but 6 years of nearly everyday riding seared that old bike into my memory, and I can still to this day remember every nuance of its powerband. I judge any bike I ride against it to see how things have progressed in the bike world. I know a kxf250 seems to have a bit more to it than the old rm, and I rode a 98 yz400 the other day that showed me that four stroke power is no joke. This 01 Kdx has a little less oomph in the midrange-not much less though- and the bottom end power is a little better than my old rm. top end is less than the rm but that's to be expected. All in all its real, real similar in the end. I'm a low end fan myself.
Sorry for the long posts- I live bench riding and reliving the fun times I grew up having! I have missed riding, and I wish I'd never stopped. I wasted 20 years playing music and partying . Riding would've saved me a lot of headaches in life if I'd never quit. I just bought my 9 year old an xr80 and I'm trying to get him involved in riding. Learning to handle and respect a bike and the outdoors builds character and leads to mechanical aptitudes that are useful all through life. I preach the riding lifestyle to any young person I can. Great, great memories to be made riding a dirt bike:)

36.5. We have come a long way. The last couple of KTM 250SX models make an honest 50 HP stock. I think the YZ250 is 46 or 47.
