I am looking for a "shorter" silencer than my PC one and was wandering if anyone had a pic of their H series with a FMF Powercore 2? Just wanting to see what it looks like before I order one sight unseen. Thanks.

If you are just looking for a shorter look then you could probably cut down the silencer you have. Just take it apart and cut the same amount from the inner tube and the outer body.

How long is the PC?

get a yz 250 fmf shorty silencer from years 2002-current and cut off the longer second tab, drill a 2 holes in this tab use it to attach the first hole on the silencer to the first mounting hole on the frame(behind the number plate, not the rear fender), the head pipe may need some readjusting and the fit the silencer and the tab my need bending, I ran this set up for a while. the silencer body starts just behind the number plate the end of the exhaust sticks out just past the number plate, almost like it was supposed to be that way :hmm:
it also doesn't interfere with the tire and sounds way better, it also put a noticeable amount of power at the bottom

That should be the turbine core "spark arrestor" model. That will be the same length as my current PC silencer. I have one I could modify by cutting down but was wandering what a non-modified Power Core 2 looked like.

I believe the power core 2 is the same length as the turbine core 2, just without the spark arrestor
here is a picture of the yz 250 shorty silencer on my bike, you can see the little bracket i made

I thought the Powercore 2 was shorter than the Turbinecore 2. I was always under the impression the spark arrestor added to the length. Can anyone confirm the overall "barrel" length of both?

What are you looking to gain from a short silencer? Is that what the cool kids are doing these days?

Mainly for looks when I don't have the necessity for quietness and spark arrestors. I have a older FMF that is cut down but the fitment is so bad I can't even bolt it on without modifying the mounting points on the silencer. It's almost more trouble than its worth on the FMF I have.

FMF does make a silencer called a SHORTY they claim the top pros use it. but the only 2 stroke kawi they make it for is the new kx 250's. Here's my new TC2 "Q" I put on 2 days ago next to my PC2 it is about 1.5 inches longer than the PC2 150 149

A mostly current but cleaner pic...I just don't like that much "silencer" sticking out past the number plate. I know...I'm picky.

They only make it for the KX because it doesn't have a spark arrestor. There's not much risk of starting a fire on a motocross track.
