Might be time to give that plasti dip a shot. I understand that's a pretty difficult piece to track down. Definitely keep an eye on Ebay, but repair may be your best bet short term.

There was a thread where someone used the plasti dip stuff on the reed block boot and it worked well for him. I think the thread was in the air cooled section.

Checked out the one on ebay.Looks like the boot between carb and intake.I need the one coming out of the airbox to the carb. I'm gonna check out the plastic coat and the sikaflex. Having trouble finding gas cap also. The lil nipple the vent tube hooks to is broken and gas dribbles out.Saw couple gas tanks on ebay with caps on for 20bucks.Hate to buy whole tank though. Got brake reservoir lid off and I'm waiting on some caliber parts and new pads. Hope to have this thing up and running soon. Didn't realize how much lil things were messed up when buying this thing. Engine runs great though for sitting so long.!st or 2nd kick every time. Hoping to run it this summer as is and after deer season stripping it down and restoring it back to it's former glory.Just gotta hide the credit card statements from the ol lady lol. Thanks for all the help. I'm learning a lot on this site.

OOOOPS! My bad. I got it wrong.

Buying a used bike usually reveals a fair amount of little problems.

Just try to seal it up.

Keep looking on the gas cap.

+1@ Jason. Had some issues with mine too. Tried 3 or 4 silicones. Gas ate through it. In the end I found SEAL ALL at Home depot for a few bucks. It's gas and oil resistant. Not an issue since. Hope you find a cap.

On Your gas cap. You could probably get a brass nipple at your local hardware store and drill the vent hole out to the appropriate size and thread it in.
