Would love to get up there and ride someday. Friend of mine just got out of the service and moved back to Traverse City, so it might be in the cards.

I have so many questions I would need a whole forum subject in itself. I was looking for felow Kdxr's as well. I'm registered as rider 51e and it's my first offroad motorcycle race. Will I have to stage gear on the course

Do you remember how long the tests are and do they save the hardest test for last and is it optional? Thanks in advance for advice.the race is still a week away and I already have pre race jitters like the first time I raced out at willow springs.

I'm not sure what you mean by stage gear.If its fuel you are concerned about, ther will be a fuel trailer that you will need to put your fuel container on that will be located on the course.Ask about it at check in.I have not ridden the event since they changed it to the restart configuration. The AA/A riders will ride a couple sections the B/C will not.The difficulty of the race has been an issue in the past I believe they have toned it down a bit for the lower ability riders it is still," one of the toughest races in the country",thats a quote from Mike Lafferty a few years ago.Keep in mind this is a national event, many riders are factory based race teams going for money and points, they will think nothing of putting you in the woods if you hold them up.Be smart ride your pace and allow the faster rider to pass as easily as possible.
I see your in kalkaska mi,I have ridden leetsville loops several time as well as the Jack Pine nice area for riding and trout fishing. You are very fortunate to live in such a nice area.Next time we are up that way would you like us to look you up for a ride?
Good luck.

I actually live a bout a mile and a half from the Leetsville trailhead so I ride it a lot. I also ride Grand Traverse single track a lot lately to help myself get ready for the loose moose enduro. And next time for sure when you're getting ready to come up this area give me a shout and we'll make some plans to go do some riding.

Well I am still sore 36 hours after the race. overall C class I finished 32nd out of 50. In C 40+ I finished 13TH out of 15. my suspension was horrible at best. I was almost unable to hold on to finish the first of four tests. There were only four kawasakis there. A kx 100 a kx450 my kdx 200 and another kdx. KTM was dominant. I now see the massive advantage the auto clutch is. In all the slow twisty stuff everyone was rear braking. Two of the four moon rocks got the better of me as did two giant mud holes that swallowed me on the bike up to my seat. I have a new found respect for anyone that races enduros.

Riding a national event probably wasn't the smartest way to break into enduro riding but it was one of the funnest days I have ever had on two wheels. I didn't take many pictures but you can go to the AMA website and see the results. My starting grid was 51E.

Thanks, I'm totally hooked. I wish I made more than $9.00 an hour I could afford to go to more races.
