Do the 250's use a 35 or 38mm PWK?

morie: All the 1991 - 1994 KDX250's had PWK38 carburetors.

Indawoods: Would that be fun riding it, or fun dumping cash into it?

All Jason fill me in on all the in's and out's on the 87's. My mate just picked her up and she's having carb troubles apparently. I am yet to look at it but I will strip the carb etc when I do, but was curious if there is anything to pay particular attention to on an 87. Cheers mate and sorry to hijack the thread.

10 months of Rego? Is that the cheaper version of Prego, like Regu??

How many digits is in an AUS VIN number? There are 17 in the USA VIN's. I don't know if they are the same worldwide or not. I thought so.

I rang him back and the first number is off the compliance plate, the one on the steering neck has another 07 on the end. It's a D model. Photo's tomorrow my time.

D2 was 1988. If it's a D model, I bet it has a Mikuni carburetor, as the AUS D-2 is in the '88 KDX200 service manual. It has a Mikuni carburetor.

Keep in mind that that motor runs backwards from motors here in the states and the float is actually a sinker.

Well that explains the ass instead of a head. :butthead:

Sinker hey ?? That may explain the carb problems.

We just run a gravitational electron neutralising reverser. The kinetics and nature of equilibrium effect work to characterize the molecular interaction of the anthranilic sprocket therefore counteracting the gravitational pull and voila our motors run just like yours.

I disassembled the kickstarter mechanism. I think it is the ratchet gear AND the spur gear. The gear faces look a little worn on early inspection.

Nothing that $90 won't fix. CHOKE!! I can just pushstart it all the time, right??

I don't know if that makes it an '88 or not. Does your KDX have a 17 digit VIN on the head tube?

What does Jerry have to do with a couple of kickstarter gears???

My brother bought a 96 KDX...it had no kickstarter on it. So he pushstarted it for the next couple of months until he could buy a kickstarter for it. Nothing like a young punk huffing and puffing down the street to get his dirt bike started :-)
