REMOVING HEAD NUT BY KIPS SHAFT, WHAT TOOL?
What do you guys use when removing the head nut by the kips shaft? I use 1/4 in drive 12mm shallow swivel socket, but it is a pain in the ass.

Not sure what your asking. If your asking about pulling the kips rod 10mm left-hand thread nut. Then the way I do it is: pull pipe, pull cover, then there you go.

Make sure you support the shaft from moving with a wrench while taking the nut loose. If you do not your will break the power valve pin that is bolted the the end of that shaft.

I must emphasize that the nut loosens by turning right, not left. It is opposite of a normal thread.

SLOW DOWN EVERYONE!, i will type slow for you, there are 4 nuts that clamp down the cylinder head to the case they are 12mm. I am NOT talking about the head cap nuts but the cylinder nuts. There is one locatated by the kips shaft, what do you guys use to remove it. Example= 12mm wrench, swivle socket, crows foot. Please read the whole post before you type a respone.

It is kind of a tricky nut to remove even with the engine out. This is why i posted the question.

In order to properly torque these cylinder base nuts, you will need a Motion Pro P/N 08-0134 torque adapter wrench. This is used in combination with a 3/8" torque wrench or ratchet handle. This is a 12 & 14 mm box wrench with a 3/8" square socket in the middle. It is a very useful tool and only cost like $12 -$15 or so.
I wouldn't recommend using a common open end wrench; too easy to round off the corners of the nut. imo.

A bit of a dicky response from someone looking for help...
But, yes a torque wrench adapter is what you need. They can be had from a good tool supplier.
