Broken bolt.......I need advice!
Hi Gang,
I am so angry and embarrassed!
I cant believe I did this!
I have a 60 mile Turkey Run coming up next Sunday. Can I run this for one day?
How do I fix this? Send the leg to Fredette? Is this the kind of thing that many local shops should be able to handle?

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! I had same thing on some forks I bought. I used a SMALL amount of heat ( propane focused on the BOLT) latched on tightly with a pair of vise grips and it came right out.
Elbow grease contains no trans fat!

I would think that is just a stud in there. U may be able to use a stud remover or weld a nut on there and back it out and replace.

It is a stud. It is 6mm and I think 22mm sticks out.

Broken bolt.......I need advice!
Thanks gang!
Love this forum!
Love my KDX!
I just bought a 2013 orange bike that already has a recall on it. Not the trusty KDX! She will be getting the nod for Sunday's Turkey Run!

OH man you did it now. Your gonna have to split the case to fix that.
Easy fix and youll prolly do it again buy a few spare.

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem.

Re: Broken bolt.......I need advice!
Or instead of welding a nut on you could use two nuts and then back it out with the inside one, much quicker! Edit: Actually on second look, there aren't that many threads showing, you might not get two nuts on there (hehe), but might be worth a shot
