Anyone Have an OEM 90+ KDX200 Piston and Calipers??

Post by KDXGarage »

Does anyone have a 1990+ OEM KDX200 piston and some calipers? I am looking for some measurements to compare to a 1983 - 1985 KDX200 piston.

Thanks!

I should have. I'll take a look in the morning and see if I can find the piston.

I read somewhere, I think here, that some one used a 86+ piston in an older bike and other then the port hole it was the same..ish.

I have a new OEM 1983 - 1985 KDX200 piston and calipers beside me. I am just wondering what 1990+ appearance and dimensions are compared to this one.

I am wondering about this little circular window on the back of the piston. The front (toward the front wheel) side of the piston is solid, with no holes.

I looked online and saw what a Wiseco piston looks like with the big window.

Well, I measured the piston that I have. It is a used OEM. I wasn't sure what measurements you were looking for so I measured the width at 65.6mm, the wrist pin at 16mm (the pin not the hole), and I didn't have a good way to measure the height but the nearest I could tell was about 70mm from the top of the crown to the bottom of the skirt. In a little bit I can get the "window" measurement for you.

This one is about 66mm in diameter.

The piston pin diameter hole is about 16mm.

The "window" is about 8.2mm, a round hole.

The bottom of the hole is about 21.06mm from the bottom of the piston.

The distance from the top of the hole to the bottom of the second ring land is about 24.6mm.

The distance from the top of the pin hole to the bottom of the second ring land is about 14.8mm.

The distance between the front sides and rear sides is about 38.7mm.

The "window" on my piston is 21.95mm x 12.95mm.

Now I see that you want a blue print of the piston.

I can get the location of the window next time I go outside.

The piston I am measuring is marked "A" for what thats worth.

From the bottom of the window to the bottom of the lower ring is 31.45mm. And from the bottom of the hole to the bottom of the top ring is 36.9mm.

Thank you for the measurements. I am curious as to the differences. I guess I need to one day take the cylinders off and compare them.

Thanks again! :prayer:
