Kenda K270 Dual Sport Tires

I just picked up my 1997 KDX220 and setting it up for street use. I will be adding all the New York requirements for inspection but I have a question on tire sizing. I was looking to run 3.25x21 on the Front and 4.50x18 on Rear.
My overall goal is to convert to SM (with a second wheel set) but need something to run in the mean time. These apear to be a cost effective solution because I can get the pair for $100.00. This bike will proabably never see the dirt (i have a kx450f).
Thoughts?

The reviews I have read are mostly possitive, there are a bunch of negatives as well but I think for the price I'm willing to take my choices. If all goes well they wont be on long. Just need to make sure I'm not going to have any rub issues.

I can't speak to Kenda's quality so I'm no help. Curious about making a KDX a street only bike over the KX450f. Why? The KDX is much better at off road riding than the KX and the KX would be a much better dual sport ride.

The KDX has the correct paperwork in order so the transition to Street should be a smooth one. My kx450f spends it's life on the Motocross Track (and the Title says "For Closed Compettion Racing ONLY or OFF Road Use ONLY").
My REAL goal is to find the right klx450 and dual sport/supermoto that one!!

I have ran K270's for years.

They get decent traction unless it is really muddy.

They last about 5-7k miles on bikes I have run them on KLR XRL DR350.

The front usually wears kinda weird, usually every 3rd knob wears a little more than the rest, could have been that all my bikes have slightly bent front wheel......dunno.

For the money they are good. Shinko makes almost the same tire usually a couple bucks cheaper too they wear about the same.

Ah, I see. I keep forgetting that it isn't as easy to street a bike in other states as it is here in AZ.

I know that the 3.25x21 will fit on the Front, my question is the rear.
Will the 4.50x18 fit on the rear or should I go with the 4.10 that is recommended by Rocky Mountain ATV/MC?
Thoughts?

ok, this is going to sound silly after my first post but i DO have experience with this tire
and i can tell you that
1: i had the 4.50X18 on the rear of my 96 KDX
2: i hated it, i never seemed to be able to get any traction out of it
as a mather of fact, i have it laying in the garage in MINT condition (feel free to make me an offer)
i replaced it by a knobbie

have you considered the kenda trakmaster?
i've heard good things about those

Street or Dirt traction? This bike will spend more time on the road then in the dirt.

dirt
it did as well as any tire ive ever ran on the street

mine does spend way more time on the street then on the trails but i still want it to do well when i hit the dirt
i ride a lot off loose sand though , maybe thats what this tires weakness is ?
