as seeing that the older E series kdx had fiberglass packing and a screen in the expansion chamber, from what I understand. Would it be safe to say that the H series dual layer pipe would have the same setup, also making it possible to remove the innards of the pipe?
or would it be possible to remove the the outer protective layer of the pipe in order to shed some weight off the bike?

I suppose you could cut the stock pipe open, remove the innards and weld it back together. Thats a lot of work, new pipes aren't terribly expensive.

Didn't someone here years ago try it and report it really didn't help for 1995+ ?
