89 KDX 200 Overflow Resovoir
Hey all. So the other day i just bought a 89 KDX 200. I put oil in the coolant overflow tank thinking that it was oil injected. I eventually looked it up and found out what its real purpose was. Thank god i didnt run the bike! i was inspecting the overflow tank and realized that the top hose was not connected and since i already poured oil into it, i decided to remove the resovoir. Is this a mistake? Thanks for the help!

Nah, no mistake. Lots of us run without it.

What SS said. Most of it spills out the over-flow on the tank anyway. Now, to try something, on my 89 rebuild, I heated up the spigot where the over-flow hose(from the tank, not the radiators) comes out and I bent it up. When I ride it this season I'll see how it works.
