hi guys

need advice pleasse

took my kdx 200 out earlier,it started,i got 3metres and it cut out,kicked and kicked and kicked and it wouldnt start!
overflow pissing fuel out continuously,eventually it started and this time i got 10 metres away and then died again!

my mate then push me on the bike and it started but died off again instantly,with the fuel tap on it just pisses out the overflow all the time!
there is spark,and when it does start i rev it but bike doesnt rev jus starts cutting out

any ideas or advice please

Sounds like your float is stuck open. Clean your carb and check float needle and float height. Sounds like its flooding out.

I'll check my manual for float height. The needle has a rubber tip on it make shure it is smooth and no chuncks missing out of it.

Might try tapping on the bowl with a screwdriver handle or something similar. If it's just stuck, that can free it up. Cleaning the carb really well is always a good idea though.

ok so i found the fault,stripped the carb down,everything seemed fine,put it back together an fitted,still wouldnt start. eventually checked spark again,strange one,first kick it sparked,every kick after that it was dead,changed plug out an started first kick :rolleyes:

The reason the plug was no good is because your carb flooded the engine. If your bike is still dumping fuel out the overflow it will continue to foul plugs.

ya you right,took it for a ride and it still pissing out the overflow,going to strip the carb again
