Moose, AllBalls, MSR....rebuild kits whats better?

Post by ICRage42 »

Ok so Im looking to get a linkage, swingarm, and shock bearing kit.

Whats the best to go with or just go oem? I see all balls has a decent set but then I see Moose and MSR have ones with nylon bushings washers and supposed to be better.

I dont want to go cheap and would like to get a decent ride time out of them. I seen some cheapos and dont want to be replacing within 3 months.

Also Ive been just using ebay for most things. I do check factory for prices before buying there ......alot of the times you get a better price direct alot of people just reship to you or ship from the factory to you.

At this point Im kinda leaning towards Moose or MSR their kits look beefier then the rest so to say.

Thanks in advance!!

Heh see! :hmm:

I do like pivot works they appear to be alot like oem in looks wise.

Yea RBates the all balls look kinda generic. Sadly I picked up a set for front an rear wheel. They are very nice imo and well just have to see how they last. Their other stuff eeeehhhh not so sure about.

Im diggin the MSR stuff tho..... some of their parts have a good design. I dunno. Plan is Linkage MSR and Swingarm Pivot Works.

Ill keep up with the maintenance and see where it goes.

Thanks for the feedback!

I did pivot works for most everything, and all balls on wheels (first time I've used them, usually just go OEM) on the hybrid. We'll see how it all holds up this weekend I hope.

My experience with All balls linkage bearing kits was not good. The bearings were fine, but the spacers, inner races, and end washers were all out of spec. I emailed them, along with pics, and they replaced everything. Still, I wouldn't buy them again. I've heard that their wheel (ball) bearings are cheap Chinese. Wheel bearings you can usually get from a bearing supply, so I would just get good ones for probably about the same price.

hmmm Ill keep that in mind. Unfortunately like I posted already installed the all balls in wheels. If I have to do them again a little later on its fine. Ill keep on eye on them.

Yeah, luckily living up here in the northwest, moss grows on most everything, and what it doesn't grow on rusts...as a result i usually replace all my bearings every season, so even if I only get a season out of the All balls its fine. Zomby just gave me an idea, we have a local bearing place that is well recommended, maybe i should just buy a bulk batch then I have a bunch of spares on hand. (might piss off the Moose parts tent guy at some of the local events if I started giving out parts though lol)
