When using the kaw factory crank jig while separating the cases,does the jig get inserted with the connecting rod at bdc or tdc?the manual states bdc but the pictogram indicates tdc.Anyone use this tool and have an answer?

A crank puller will also make the tool not needed.

As Tedh98 said, the crank jig is for reassembly, and you usually put the crank at BDC to allow the jig to fit fully between the crank weights. If you freeze the crank and heat the case half the crank pretty much just drops right in with very little force, small rubber mallet whack maybe. For disassembly, a little heat around the bearing races helps a lot as well, and doesn't matter where the crank is at. One of my most used tools in the shop is my trusty little propane torch...and its good for a late night shop grilled cheese

I personally use a heat gun, lots faster than a torch and safer around the seals. Also, instead of freezer which takes a good while try dry ice. 15 mins. And ur golden.
