what engine will fit kdx 125

hi im a newbie :oops: i have just bought a 1991 kdx 125 as a project but the bottom end and top end needs doing, what other engine can i fit without changing the engine mounts? thanks

Probably easiest to source the parts and put a top and bottom end in it. Cheaper than buying a whole motor that probably needs the same. Otherwise, I'd say you might be able to fit a KDX200 or KX125 engine, but I would not expect it to be a bolt in. You'll need to be able to weld, cut swingarms, etc.

A zx10 engine will bolt right in and the latest ones have traction control which is perfect for a newbie.

I think a KDX125 would be an awesome bike. I would love to ride one.

To the OP, just rebuild what you have. It really isn't that hard and you would have the pleasure of knowing you did it yourself and you would learn a lot in the process.
