new top end break in advise?

hey guys, im getting my cylinder back from langcourt in the next few days and i was wondering what the proper break in procedure is ?

its a 200 with (i believe a 2 MM overbore)

Start it, let it warm up, check for leaks, ride it as you normally would.

But this topic is like the "best premix" discussions. People will feel strongly why their method is correct.

The best thing is to read up on the two basic approaches and see which one makes the most sense to you.

thanks guys

heres another question though
i had the cylinder bored over because how bad it was worn
what do i need to do with the powervalves to make it all work ?
(or will they still clear the piston?)

You will want to make sure that the center valve will clear with a little room for expansion. Might have been a good idea to send it with the cylinder so they could have made sure it would clear.

I can't remember how much room there is around the center valve to the piston. You might be fine.

thanks, if i had known the cylinder needed a bore aswell i would have still forgot ;)
it never crossed my mind before

so, is this a big deal to get "perfect" or can it be sloppy as long as it is over (obviously dont want it portruding into the piston)

I can't really say for sure but I would think that you would want it as smooth as possible like the factory edge. Also you are only going 1mm closer to the valve so you could be fine.

A 200 has a (roughly) 66 mm bore and a 220 has a 69 mm bore so if they went up two mm then you have a 68 mm bore and it might be easier to get the center valve from a 220 if you have issues. But I would wait and see what it looks like installed.

would i be able to dremel it ?
maybe install it, hit it with a marker and grind out the flat spots?

(ill install it tomorrow or whenever i get a chance and see what we got)

What ever came of the center valve? Did it work fine the way it was? Did you have to fine tune it?

well, when i got the barrel back from langcourt it came with the oversized wiseco piston and that came with specific instruction on how to cut the powervalve
it was pretty obvious there was no way the piston would clear the vavle without some work so i just dropped it off at the local automotive machine shop and 40 dollars later it was all set (to the specs that came with the wiseco piston)

the way i figured it i had allready spend 400 bucks on it, no point in skimming on another 40, plus, i know the guys over there have a few KDXs themselves and had done many of these before
