Can anyone help me identity the use/placement of two little round gaskets from my new top end gasket kit? In a separately wrapped bag, are what I know to be a series of gaskets used for the exhaust.[1 copper o-ring,2 rubber o-rings]But....there are these two hollow, hard rubber gaskets[bout 1/2 inch round]that I can't figure their placement. It looks like they slip over something. My bike is 04.....Namara gasket kit.
First top end rebuild has gone smooth so far.Did it canyoncarver style. Piston in head first, then slip over connecting rod with supporting blocks of foam not wood. Took motor off bike also. Thanks,Ed

Re: Top end gasket enigma
sounds like the o rings for your sub valves. KIPS should always be taken apart and cleaned when top end is being done.

Re: Top end gasket enigma
I do believe kdx633 got it right. I did take KIPS apart and cleaned till shine, but failed to see those gaskets.
Dam it, it was not mentioned in manual reassemble. Can I install without removing head/cylinder back off? Probably not hey? Thanks fellas.Regards.....Ed

I don't think I would worry about it.
