"Will this tank fit" question

Post by 4Rider »

Need some help from you smart guys out there-

I ordered a IMS desert tank from the local friendly Kawasaki folks for the kids 2002 KDX 220 . I open the box to find that the tank is labeled

" '95-'01 KDX200/'97-'01 KDX220".

Will this tank fit on our '02 KDX 220?

In a word... "YUP"!

95 to present 200 or 220 tanks are interchangable.

4Rider, that means it was made before the 2002's were out. All 1995 and newer tanks are all the same size.

Jason,

You mean to tell me I didn't get a freshly made tank? What an outrage! What could be worse than stale stock?

On the plus side, the tank came with new radiator shrouds and new graphics (IMS logo graphics of course). Guess I'll look for a new gripper-style seat cover while I'm updating the looks.

Thanks for the replies. I thought that everything on all of the later models was interchangable from some of the prior posts I read, but I sometimes can't remember which bike I am remembering details about. I'm not getting old....I'm not getting old....I'm not getting old....I'n not, uh, I'm not, uh, what was I saying.............

Hey Indawoods-

Thanks for the update of my header line. Three stars, is that a Brigadeer or Major General or somethin like that?

Now if I could only get a photo shrunk down to the right size to use as an Avatar so I could be almost as cool as the other guys!

Well, that or there sticker printer has been out of ink for a few years. I have seen a lot of stuff on eBay that the label showed as for '95 - whatever, and you can tell it is just an old product that will still fit all the '95 and newer KDX's.
