1994 KDX200

Post by johnyblaze »

I have the opportunity to buy a 94 200 in running condition for $300. Complete with the blue forks. I used to own a 98 220 with RB everything and KX forks.

Can someone please school me in the differences between the E-series and H-series bikes before I blow $100 in gas to go see it?

Looking for differences in weight, power, geometry, comfort, etc.

TIA

Even better - how about that KDX200 engine in a 2001 KX125 rolling frame for another $400?

Anyone done a hybrid with the older engine?

The E series engine is excellent, aside from a weakness with the aluminum subvalves. They like to break. The power delivery is stronger down low than the H bike, with about the same up top. The ergonomics are a bit dated, more like a KX500. Extremely comfortable though. Probably the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. Weight is about the same. Dfeckle has a nice E series hybrid build in the hybrid section.
