i have a gear box problem when i rev the bike on a stand in nuetral the gearbox makes a cracking noise and the rear wheel starts to turn its fine when ticking over has any one got any ideas what could be wrong . i have split the cases measered all the shims selector forks and cant see anything wrong all the gears look good has any one had a similar problem .

The wheel turning isn't that uncommon at all. It is just the drag of the oil making the wheel spin a little.

Could the cracking noise just be a KIPS rattle? Or maybe some pinging?

thanks for your reply the wheel is still until it makes the cracking noise then will turn and stops so i dont think it just drag if its ticking over it still.

If you rev the bike it will, on it's own, out of nowhere, make a cracking noise then start driving the back wheel?

Any chance of getting a video?

Would it maybe be your chain making that noise?

no iv taken the chain of it still does it going to try and work out whats wrong today.
