Reed look good

Hi.
How do you know if the Reed Valve is worn and needs to be replaced?

I'm trying to figure out why my 220 sounds lean only when running at constant cruising speed.

I notice the reed gasket is seaping oil.

I've taken the reed out, and it looks good to my eyes. Nothing broken. Nothing chipped. Is it still possibly bad?

If you mean oil is leaking OUT to atmosphere, that means you have a LEAK, which also means you have air LEAKING IN from atmosphere too. I would seal this leak and see what happens.

I try to take a picture tonight.

Around the Reed gasket, there's almost a lot of dirt attracted to it.

spray some carb cleaner around the reed cage/carb intake boot whilst the bike is running..if you have a leak around this area then you will notice that the RPMs will increase.

If the leak is large enough the RPM's may go down. Like it is flooding. Or it is possible to have the RPM's go down with a very small leak due to the leak being temporarily plugged. What you should be looking for is a change in RPM's.
