spring for rear shock
94 KDX 250, rear shock spring. How to figure spring rate and where to buy another, stiffer spring. I'm over 200 pounds and the rear spring just does not have enough stiffness for my big frame. Any ideas? Ron

Go to a catalog site, like rocky mtn atv, and find your spring part number. Find other models that use the same number, likely Yamaha YZ250s. Find a spring on Ebay for the other model, probably 5.2 or 5.4. I weigh 230 and use a Titanium 5.5kg spring from a YZ250F on my 96KDX200, which I got on ebay for cheap. Steel springs weaken over time, so it can be a crapshoot buying used ones.
You will need to get stiffer fork springs, too, to keep the bike in balance and make it handle correctly.

This is my rifle, this is my gun, the YZ to go fast, the KDX is for fun!
