Will there be a problem if my carb vent tubes are of a smaller inside diameter? I replaced mine with some RC fuel line and it is smaller than the stock vent hoses.

Is the id of the hose smaller than that of the brass tubes it is connected to?

while we are on the subject, i have a small issue where the bike tends to leak fuel when it is on the kick stand
now, it does this intermittendly AND i dont want to change the float level because i run it high on the revs for longer periods of time

so i was wondering if i could run the overflow tube higher up so it only drips out when the bike os on its side

(sorry for the threadjack but it seemed to match close enough)

I would think routing it up higher would not be a problem. They sell kits to move the vent tubes into the airbox.

ive heard that is a good mod in case you cross a lot of standing water
always figured it was just for the vent tubes though, would you run the overflow into the airbox aswell ?

If you think about it for a second,...... I can wait.............. The higher you run the over flow tube then the higher the fuel needs to be to get out. If you come out of the bowl and go up, say the 4 or 5 inches to the air box then before the over flow could have a chance of working then the fuel would already be well past the carb and filling the bottom end with gas...... So Yeah sure it will work great! Don't bother shutting the gas off when you park the bike. That is way too much work.

If it does it intermittently then I would check to see if the float is hanging up on anything or bent and rubbing the bowl or something like that. My little 80 does that sometimes and tapping on the carb stops it but until I find a replacement carb it does just fine.

Mine does it too and I've adjusted the float and cleaned the carb several times...

I just ordered a new float needle. Hopefully that will fix it because I do long rides and need all the fuel range I can get.
