Odometer
Has anyone tried to reset an odometer back to 0? I am afraid to take it apart. Anyone know if it the type which will self destruct if you take it apart? BTW, it is off an '89. I figured since I had totally broken the bike down, it would be cool to have the odometer reset. Kind of like a rebirth.

One like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-KDX200-MIL ... b2&vxp=mtr
Looks like it would come apart pretty easy, just do it very slowly so nothing comes flying out.

How many miles are on the one that you have now? It might be easier to just connect a drill to it and spin it backward or forward to get it back to "0". Taking something like that apart can get messy in a hurry right across the garage floor.

There are 1981 miles on it. I thought about the drill method, but wasn't sure if it would work in reverse.rbates9 wrote:How many miles are on the one that you have now?
