ok guys,
checked my kips today,and as expected the sub valves where around the wrong way! (as per the old manual info being wrong!)
i took some pics so people can see the difference........

pics taken from the front of the barrel (exhaust port facing me) you can see the sub valve with the groove at the top is on the right hand side! (should be on the left)




what it looks like inside when its closed (valve around wrong way and you can see daylight on the left hand side of the sub valve!)



what it looks like open....



subvalve now correctly fitted on the left side (again exhaust port facing me)




closed..........



open..........



quite a difference!
thought this may help anyone who wasnt sure what it should look like.

If one sends PMs to persons, the sender should not have PM receipt disabled if they expect a response.



Considering it doesn't even look like the sender can USE PMs, I don't know how it happened in the first place.

Regardless of what source was used for reassembly information, verify the proper timing of the subport drums amd actuation of the main valve, then verify proper operation of the KIPS as a whole (with the engine doing the activation).

I have somehow become deauthorized from reading private messages. What is up with this?

Dr. J mentioned that some privileges are 'jacked up' in that regard.

So for the sake of clarification the manual correction page is saying the right valve has the groove if youre looking from the front where the pipe would connect?

No.

The right side is the RIGHT side.

Right side = clutch side

Left side = flywheel side

That orientation is always true.

So, the grooved subport drum, when correctly installed, goes on the right side (sitting on the bike), the clutch side.

The first pic in dude's post is indicating it being in the WRONG place. He does have his 'left' and 'rights' backwards, but he also notes he is looking FROM the exhaust view.

10-4, thanks for the heads up. I had read so much about the power valve mistake that my head was spinning. there is a surprising amount of bad info out there in regards to the correct way. think I'll just stick to this site from here on out. you guys really know your stuff!

When the whole site is based off one bike it tends to have a bit more detail.

FYI Sammie, all it takes for PM is the price of a cup of cheap coffee. Just one lonely little dollar, which paypal takes 10 cents out of. Not even sure you can get a cheap cup of coffee for 90 cents, lol.....
