No toil all the way. I take them to work and use isopropyl alcohol to clean them. The filter oil is alcohol based and cleans right up when dunked in a bucket of alcohol. Dries quick too.

NoToil, no prefilter. They are easy to clean, cheap to buy, have never had any debris get past the filter into the intake.

Can you clean the NoToil like a Uni filter in soap and water or Simple Green? I'm leaning towards a "uni" foam type filter.

The NoToil cleans just like any foam filter but uses a special soap to get the oil out. Someone on here had said that oxi clean also works. I know from a friends experience that parts washer solvent will NOT remove the NoToil oil from a filter. All I have ever used with the NoToil filters is the NoToil soap and oil.

I use oxi clean. Works fine on both foam and K&N filters with notoil oil. I race at several tracks that can be extremely dusty, so I like to use a prefilter, especially on foam, and have found something that is cheap, and just plain kicks ass. Go to the restaurant supply, and buy a bag of those white hair nets you see woman wear in restaurant kitchens. Oil one up, and put it over your filter. You won't believe how well it works.

If you don't believe me, PM me your address. I'll send you a dozen for free to try out. I bought 1000 on ebay for $20 a few years ago :boogie:

Oxi Clean FTW.

Zombie woof, interesting use of a hair net. I might have to give that a shot!

no toil and no pre-filter. The hairnet idea sounds great! Might help stretch a few more months out of a filter. I have never once found dust or dirt in my intake though.

No toil and no pre filter. Never had an issue on any of my bikes. Would only consider an "outerwear" if its dune riding your doing.
