Kawi front fork cylinder holder & adapter
I need to replace the fork seals on my '89. Is the Kawi front fork cylinder holder(part# 57001-183) and adapter(part#57001-1157) needed or can something be cheaply used instead? Someone told me to try and find a piece of square stock that will fit into the cylinder to hold it. Does anyone know if this will work? Also, anyone know how many mm's is the opening is?

there's a topic on here somewhere on how to make your own for cheap, I think you will need a welder though. Before I became a member here and before I had a welder, I used 1" square piping like you mentioned.
here's a blueprint for a '95-up KDX, not sure if it's the same as the e-series though:

Look on www.frpoffroad.com for his tool. It is great. I have one and have used it during fork work.

Re: Kawi front fork cylinder holder & adapter
Does anyone know if this DIY fork cylinder holder will work on 1992 KDX 200 forks? If not, what can I do to make one for a 1992? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, DR Riders.KDXrider1989 wrote:there's a topic on here somewhere on how to make your own for cheap, I think you will need a welder though. ...Didnt need a special tool after all. Instead I compressed and strapped the forks way down to stop the cylinder from spinning and used my impact driver on the bottom bolt. I saw this trick somehwere on this site and decided to try it. Works like a charm

Just be careful that you don't spin the o-rings in half.
