Post by gopack4749 »

Does anyone know if a E-series and up fuel cap will fit on a C-series tank? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fuel Cap Question

Post by dfeckel »

I know for a fact that the E series fuel cap will NOT fit the C series. Kawasaki went to a smaller diameter cap in the mid-80s on all their MX bikes, and on the KDX in '89 . I did some cap shopping for my C series recently due to a crack. The E series cap doesn't fit. The good news is that Kawasaki used this cap on lots of their bikes in the 70s and early 80s. I found a good condition cap from an '84 Tecate trike and it mounted right up. I also found that the cap from my '08 Husqvarna CR125 mostly fit. I think the thread pitch was slightly off, but it snugged down nicely without chewing anything up. Husky used these caps on everything between '04 and '07, 125s between '04 and '08, and on the 250 and 300 2 strokes between '04 and '12.
