The creation of a 2013 kdx220

At the last race, i got alot of weird looks at my kdx because of its age. (I think i had the oldest bike there) Do you fellow KDX'ers have a similar problem? So i think i might rebirth it, and maybe some extra. Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm not trying to brag, but I have kicked a lot of ass on a KDX. Spend money on it, just do your research on mods some are not right. I'm always around if you want any advice or help. I'm running a 220 in the Baha 500 this year, Kawasaki will notice!
Keep an eye out for the new products our shop is putting out.

Yep. Setup right...they are fully competitive...even today - something needs to be said about the way you can go longer on a kdx without tiring so much - that means you can be aggressive longer in long races when other guys are fading.

The guys who were giving wierd looks are probably newbies to the sport, went out and bought the latest and greatest 4 stroke in their favorite color and showed up to race.

Anyone that has been around the sport awhile respects the KDX. It's been featured many times in magazines as one of the greatest trail bikes ever.

There are numerous posts here that walk you through upgrades in performance as well as appearance. Dig around a bit and I'm sure you'll find lots of ways to upgrade and update.

I have an '89, and whenever I take it out nobody would ever think that it's 23 years old

Love being out front in the local Hare scarmble series on an old bike I built myself.

I race mine in the local HS series and there have been more showing up. There were four entered in the last race and I was on the sideline with a knee injury. I have been consistently faster on the KDX than my WR450 in the woods. It does not tire me out like the big bike. With fork upgrades, you are not far behind on suspension tech.
This is my rifle, this is my gun, the YZ to go fast, the KDX is for fun!

Received similar looks myself last week. Maybe it was just the new haircut because got to chatting with a few. Everyone's comments supported the kdx is the best all around bike recognized for being quick, light reliable and easy to work on. Haven't ridden any of the new(er) thumpers but this 2003 kdx certainly draws more attention. Nice to know it was so positive. As mentioned before, this outing was my first in 20+ years and I felt like part of the group rather than the "slow older guy everyone had to wait for".

I bet they would notice more if you raced the Baja 500.
