How much would the hybrid build cost total?

It all depends on your resourcefulness, how good you can dicker over price, and how long you are willing to wait for the right deal.

Do you already have a KDX?
You also need to factor in what you can sell the KDX roller for and the engine from the MX bike.
And it is easy to get caught up in buying new parts and doing upgrades before or while you are building. But if you focus on doing just the bare minimum to get the bike built, then you can be patient and wait for deals on all the upgrades you want to do.
I've had searches set-up for months and even close to a year before I found really good deals on eBay. I got a used IMS tank for $30 and a complete KXF front end for $275 shipped.
I think there is a post where someone listed out all the costs for one, maybe two, hybrid builds. Shouldn't be too hard to search for.
