Hello to all fellow gearheads. New member, just picked up a 2000 Kdx 220. A 1990 kx125 rolling frame was thrown in the deal. Does anyone know if the 125 front is worth fitting to the 220? Thanks.

My first hybrid was a 1990 kx125. I bought the newer blue usd's for the project. I took the 90 front end, had it rebuilt, resprung, and revalved for woods riding and put them on my kdx220. Everything bolts right up, same bearings, steering stops line up perfectly, direct bolt on using the kx front wheel, brakes, and triples, no need to mess with pressing in a different stem. The forks were tons better then the stock kdx forks. Picture is a bad angle, the bike sat level with the forks slid slightly up in the triple clamps.

The '94-'99 fork guards will bolt right up and look much better if you ever need replacements.

Good job on the swap! The green Swingarm is interesting

The powder coaters made a mistake on the swingarm and kickstand. They offered to redo it for free, but at the time I really wanted to get it together. It didn't look that bad once you got a nice silver background swingarm decal on it, and if the kickstand ever fell off it'd be easier to find. Sold it acouple of years ago to a friend, it's still going strong.

Thanks, for the help. Can any of the rear parts be used as well?

I don't think any of the rear parts would be an upgrade. Kx has 19" rear wheel, the kdx's 18" is better suited for off road riding. The kdx already has a quality shock.
