She's alive!

So I've spent a couple of months freshening up a rescued 95 200.
It was fairly rough mainly from neglect but seemd to be pretty sound.

What I did...
new wheel bearings and seals
new piston, rings, cylinder was inspected by a reputable mechanic and was pronounced Ok.
new air filter
new bars, grips and levers
new UFO rear fender, which by the way, fits like socks on a rooster
new fork boots
inspected and greased every suspension bolt and bearing
new fork seals
new throttle cable
158 main, 45 pilot jet to start, baffle removed from airbox
new tires and heavy duty tubes
the finish on the FMF Fatty was bad so it is now BBQ black
new radiator wing thingies (white instead of the original green)
frame painted grey (but probably going back green this winter)
general cleaning and freshening every part of the old gal (some day I'll learn how to post pictures!)
new chain, already had new sprockets (the guy I bought it from had installed an oring chain, it rubbed on the case around the C/S)
new C/S spacer and o-rings
repack spark arrestor
new brake pads front and rear

Today was the moment of truth, it fired on the second kick! Man she sounded nice and crisp!

I have run her through two heat and cool down cycles so far. Next weekend I'll ride her around the yard for a while to make sure I have everything tight before venturing out into the woods of SW Missouri.

Awesome to hear. I am working on an 89 right now. Hope to get my gaskets in tomorrow. Hopefully I will get her to fire on the second kick.
