I found the following on another site, does anyone know if this is correct? Can I install the 90-94 seal and does anyone know if it is a drop in fit?

"They also had a problem with the waterpump seal going on the 89,so for 90-94 they installed a back-up seal, you can upgrade to this."

As far as I know, yes, you can use the later seal. It is not a "drop-in" fit. You have to seat it just like any other seal.

Sorry, no, I know it is not just going to "drop-in", what I meant was, does the case or WP shaft have to be modified.

Do you remeber what seals you needed to order?

Do I just order the 1989 seals and then add the '91 part in this diagram?

Dang, the link will not work.

No mods to the case at all. I don't know how they expect you to fit two seals in there though as I couldn't do it. There just isn't enough room to fit both without one not being fully seated. I just used part # 92049-1366 (92049D on the diagram) and it has been working fine. I still have the # 92049-1359 seal sitting in a box.
