mix question
Just got a new to me 89 kdx 200, the motor was just rebuilt and I was wondering what mix ratio I should use. He said he was mixing it 32:1 which seemed a bit off. What should I run to get me in the ballpark? Should I switch it after a few rides to a different ratio?

pic a good synthetic oil, choose a ratio you wanna use 1:25 to 1:50 and jet your bike accordingly

mix question
32:1 is what the factory calls for. However, you can run about any mix you like. I run 32:1 because I use and abuse the hell out of my engine on tight singletrack with the auto-clutch and the extreme heat of the AZ desert. I feel it gives me just that little bit extra protection and therefor more peace of mind. I'm trying to get as long as possible out of my top and bottom end.

Re: mix question
i run 1:37.85
reason for that is that i can switch between gallons and mililiters
example, one gallon is 3785 ML
that means on one gallon i need 100 ML of oil
on my 3.6 gallon tank i have 1.1 gallons of reserve
so when the fuel runs out of the "on position" in the tank i need 2.5 gallons of gas to fill it up that requires 250ML of oil
i have a water bottle which happens to be a 250 ML bottle
i keep that filled with oil in the fender bag and i just drop that and 2.5 gallons of gas and im all set (maybe pop a wheelie or two too ensure it gets mixed nicely)

mix question
I stick with the factory recommendation of 32:1 and run a good synthetic oil, like motorex or maxima. That way I have a good peace at mind that even if I beat the hell out of my bikes they are OK, like SS109 said
